Leadership Team

  • Brian J. Andrew is a visionary technology entrepreneur, innovator, and CEO with a proven track record of building and scaling high-impact companies at the forefront of wireless communications, security imaging, and advanced materials processing. With over three decades of leadership in high-tech startups, Brian has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to identify emerging opportunities, secure substantial funding, commercialize breakthrough technologies, and deliver extraordinary results.

As President and CEO of Precision Periodic, Brian sets the strategic vision for the company while remaining deeply hands-on in hardware engineering. He personally leads the design and development of the company’s proprietary Multi-Scale Refining Unit hardware, combining his technical expertise with a clear long-term roadmap for sustainable resource recovery. Under his leadership, Precision Periodic has pioneered revolutionary nano-filtration technologies that address critical global challenges in critical minerals. The company’s Clean Process purification platform has achieved remarkable results positioning the company as a key player in the clean energy transition.Brian’s entrepreneurial journey is marked by a series of notable successes:

    • Triton Network Systems: As a founder and leader, Brian helped guide this pioneering wireless broadband company (a Lockheed Martin spinoff) to a remarkable $1.3 billion IPO. He played a key role in raising $98 million and commercializing advanced technology originally licensed from Lockheed Martin. Brian led the strategic acquisition of IBM Corp.’s high-speed modem unit in San Diego, CA, which strengthened Triton’s technology and product capabilities. Under his leadership, the company expanded into a multi-location operation with facilities in Orlando and San Diego, growing to hundreds of highly skilled employees while establishing itself as a leader in high-speed wireless networking.

    • Brijot Imaging Systems (founder, CEO, and Board Member): Brian founded this innovative security technology company, which developed the world’s first full-motion, real-time millimeter-wave concealed weapons detection systems. Brijot’s solutions were deployed in high-profile pilots, including Department of Homeland Security rail security projects, helping advance public safety and airport/transportation screening technologies.

    • e-xpedient / Cavu, Inc.: Brian built a competitive B2B wireless service provider that delivered 100 Mbps all-wireless broadband across multiple markets. The company achieved revenue growth significantly outperforming competitors and raised substantial capital before a successful exit.

A graduate of the University of Auckland with a strong technical foundation in engineering and telecommunications, Brian combines deep domain expertise with exceptional business acumen. His leadership style emphasizes innovation, strategic partnerships, and operational excellence—qualities that have consistently attracted top talent, investors, and customers to his ventures.

Today, Brian continues to drive meaningful impact through Precision Periodic, developing sustainable technologies that support national security, critical minerals independence, and the global shift to renewable energy. Known for his forward-thinking vision and hands-on approach, he is a respected voice in advanced materials, resource recovery, and clean technology circles.

Brian J. Andrew exemplifies the spirit of entrepreneurship—turning bold ideas into industry-transforming realities.

  • Brandon Carpenter is a founder, Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree (Science), and Y Combinator Fellow.

With over 12 years building deep-tech startups and laboratory experience from the bench to commercial scale, Brandon has secured and managed over $1.5M in federal R&D funding, serving as Project Manager on four DOE and NSF awards and subawards including an active DOE SBIR for Li-6/Li-7 isotope separation — validation that the technology addresses critical national priorities across energy, defense, and domestic materials supply chains.

Brandon has developed expertise spanning polymer and ceramic nanofabrication, metal oxide nanofabrication (ZnO, TiO₂), plasmonic nanostructures, SERS/LSPR substrates, and microfluidic systems with hands-on characterization expertise using SEM, AFM, Raman spectroscopy, FTIR, and UV-Vis.

Brandon has led pilot-scale manufacturing operations internationally, reduced per-unit production costs as the platform scaled, and overseen development of 17 distinct Nano Bead™ products — a product breadth that reflects both the versatility of the underlying chemistry and a deliberate strategy to capture multiple high-value markets.

His educational background is in mechanical engineering (University of North Dakota, B.S.) with a focus on manufacturing and materials.

  • Dylan Weitzman is a physicist and materials inventor who has spent the past decade turning novel nanomaterials into industrial separation technology. As Co-Founder and VP of R&D at Precision Periodic, he is one of the architects of the company’s proprietary Nano Bead platform — 15+ trade-secret-protected media engineered to selectively capture and recover the metals the energy transition runs on.

His scientific range is unusually broad for a founder: refining and recovery of lithium, cobalt, nickel, rare earths, precious metals, alongside lithium isotope separation (Li-6/Li-7) for the fission and fusion industries — a capability few in the world can claim. That work is vetted by the field’s most demanding gatekeepers. Weitzman has served as Principal Investigator on $1.5M+ in competitive DOE awards, and was selected as a DOE grant reviewer, judging the technical and commercial merit of other teams’ critical-materials research.

He pairs invention with execution. Weitzman has translated bench-scale chemistry into automated pilot systems — integrating his own process controls and Python-based analytics — and deployed them across mining, nuclear, industrial wastewater, and battery-recycling applications. Earlier, he guided 500+ founders through customer discovery and go-to-market using Lean Startup. The result is a technical leader who can both invent a defensible platform and carry it to commercial reality.
